Firearms and Protection Orders - Garden City

AUDIENCE: KCSDV member program advocates and staff only.

This training will provide an overview of gun violence and how the presence of firearms impacts your role as an advocate. A brief overview of federal and state gun laws will be provided.

As a result of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the difference between state and federal gun laws.
  • Address additional safety considerations that may be present when firearms are involved.
  • Discuss the process for removal of firearms upon issuance of a protection order.
