- For Immediate Release

Topeka, KS - The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) is pleased to announce that internationally-acclaimed musician Kelley Hunt will perform at KCSDV’s 10th Annual Safe Homes Safe Streets Benefit Reception on Wednesday, February 13th. Safe Homes, Safe Streets (SHSS) is KCSDV’s annual two-day event that bridges public awareness, training and policy work. SHSS is a unique opportunity for community members, legislators, and professionals to become more informed about the prevalence of sexual and domestic violence, and the benefits of creating safe homes and streets for everyone.

This year's SHSS features two days full of activities on February 12-13, including a full-day training led by nationally recognized sexual assault expert David Lisak, press conference, public policy update, a private reception for KCSDV member program staff and a Benefit Reception that is open to anyone interested in supporting this work.

"(The) Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence does absolutely essential work statewide providing support and safety for victims and educational outreach programs to address these violence issues at their root,” said Hunt. “Every one of us knows a friend, relative or even close family member who has been a victim of these kinds of crimes. There really is no degree of separation for anyone on this issue. As long as men, women and children live in fear of this kind of violence, organizations like (the) Kansas Coalition must be funded - through our private support and state and federal funding efforts. I'm honored to be asked to perform for this important benefit. I urge all my fans and friends in Kansas to join me at this event. This truly will be a great time for a great cause."
