Rape and Domestic Violence Reports in Kansas in 2006
The following information is taken from "A Report on Domestic Violence and Rape Statistics in Kansas, 2006" released in the fall of 2007. This report is updated annually and is based on data submitted by Kansas law enforcement agencies through the Kansas Incident Based Reporting System. The data includes only those domestic violence and rape incidents reported to law enforcement. National studies demonstrate that most incidents of rape and domestic violence are not reported to law enforcement

Rapes Reported to Law Enforcement in 2006
- 98% of rape victims were female.
- 94% of rape offenders were male.
- Nearly 80% of all rapes happened at home.
- The victim knew the rapist 79% of the time.
Domestic Violence Reported to Law Enforcement in 2006
- 71% of victims were female.
- 74% of offenders were male.
- More than 80% of domestic violence incidents happened at home.
- 23,077 domestic violence offenses were reported to law enforcement.
