Federal Fiscal Year 2008
The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual & Domestic Violence is a private, non-profit organization whose mission is to prevent and eliminate sexual and domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking. Currently, 30 community-based sexual and domestic violence advocacy organizations are members of KCSDV. They provide comprehensive services to victims. During the most recent federal fiscal year (July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008), 23 programs reported the following:
Crisis Hotline Calls: 45,000
Victims Served: 23,000
These are the number of victims receiving face-to-face advocacy services.
Counseling Hours Provided: 44,000
These are the number of hours that advocates provided face-to-face services.
Victims Needing Medical Assistance: 1,700
These are the number of victims requesting hospital advocacy.
Victims Sheltered: 2,800
Sheltered Nights: 62,900
These are the number of nights that victims and their families spent in shelter and transitional housing.
Volunteer Hours: 85,000
These are the number of hours that community volunteers donated to the programs providing direct services to victims.
