Training Highlights:
- Thought-provoking discussions on societal responses to violence against women, the meaning of cultural competence, and considerations for working with underserved communities;
- Opportunities to enhance collaboration between child welfare professionals and domestic violence and sexual assault program advocates;
- Demonstrations on how to work with a batterer, including interviewing techniques, questions to ask, and case plan expectations;
- Training on the new Domestic Violence Manual for Child Welfare Professionals;
- Skill-building activities, including working a child welfare case where domestic violence has been identified; and
- Information on how to support the safety of a survivor who has experienced sexual violence or stalking in the context of domestic violence.
All participants will receive the newly published Domestic Violence Manual for Child Welfare Professionals.
