He has been an ordained minister in the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) since 1983.

Miles will also be providing a full-day training on domestic violence on February 10 in Topeka. The training is geared to faith community leaders and domestic violence advocates.
Titled "Uniting Against Domestic Violence: Advocacy & Faith Communities training," the session will include information about the dynamics of domestic violence, the influence of faith texts on faith leaders' responses to domestic violence, and the importance of partnering between faith communities and advocates.
The training will also provide opportunities for resource sharing and discussion between advocates and the faith community.
