Statement: Condemning Violence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - August 16, 2017
Topeka, KS – The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) advocates for the prevention and elimination of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. Oppression such as racism, sexism, homophobia, and anti-Semitism holds this violence in place by denying access to a life free from violence. If one of us cannot be free from violence and oppression, none of us are free. We are all impacted.
KCSDV joins our state and national communities of advocates in condemning the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia this past weekend and condemns violence anywhere across our country. KCSDV stands in solidarity with those resisting racism and oppression and with victims and survivors of violence and hate, who are our neighbors and those for whom we care deeply.
The 24-hour Kansas Crisis Hotline is 888-END-ABUSE (888-363-2287).
