Welcome KCSDV Staff
Jessica Burger joined KCSDV in January in the position of Staff Attorney. She worked with Kansas Legal Services, Douglas County Legal Aid, and Iowa Legal Aid while in law school and prior to that had experience with non-profit organizations such as Amnesty International. Jessica brings experience and dedication to this position at KCSDV.
Nancy Lawrence joined KCSDV in July of 2014 as Accounting Manager. She has been working in the accounting field 20 plus years. Nancy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an accounting major. Her most recent position was Payroll accounting for a multiple group homes for MR/DD clients. She also has 5 years’ experience with accounting at Shawnee County including reviewing some of the accounting for grants.
Sarah Hachmeister joined KCSDV as the Statewide Training Projects Coordinator/Trainer. Previously she completed a clinical internship at SAFEHOME in Overland Park, providing therapy to domestic violence survivors. She also worked as a case manager for two years at KVC Prairie Ridge Hospital in Kansas City, an inpatient psychiatric treatment center for children and adolescents. Sarah completed her master’s degree in Counseling at MidAmerica Nazarene University in 2013.
Laura Jones is the Rural Collaboration Coordinator for KCSDV. She comes to KCSDV from the Kansas State Department of Education where she was the State Coordinator for Title IV-Safe and Drug Free Schools and safety and prevention planning and reporting for districts and schools in the state of Kansas. In that capacity, Laura served on the KCSDV Primary Prevention Planning Committee. Laura brings years of experience in education and professional development training and at the state-level in educational research, program development, and training. She is delighted to be working with KCSDV again.
Carly McPeak joined KCSDV as the Immigration Project Attorney. She graduated from Washburn University School of Law in May 2013 where she gained experience in both family and immigration law. Previously, she worked in the area of adoption law.
Kristina Scott joined KCSDV in February as Trainer and Training Coordinator. Her background is in social work and previously she has worked with populations experiencing domestic and sexual violence, as well as with families and children in the child welfare system doing in-home family therapy and training of new therapists. Kristina is very excited to be a part of all the great work that KCSDV is doing.
Jackie Teaford joined KCSDV in June in the position of Director of Finance and Administration. She most recently worked with the nonprofit Kansas Association of Realtors for the past 20 months and for BNSF Railway for 4.5 years prior to that. She has a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management and a Masters in Business Administration.
