Today, the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV), in partnership with the 29 sexual and domestic violence advocacy programs located across Kansas, is hosting an Advocacy Day at the Kansas Statehouse to increase awareness about the issues of sexual and domestic violence in Kansas and the life-saving services available statewide. The Advocacy Day is part of KCSDV’s 13th Annual Safe Homes, Safe Streets event.

Safe Homes, Safe Streets is an annual event hosted by the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) that bridges public awareness, training and policy work. KCSDV hosts member sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy programs from across the state in these various events.

January is National Stalking Awareness Month, a time to focus on a crime that affects 7.5 million victims a year. This year’s theme—“Stalking: Know It. Name It. Stop It.” — challenges the nation to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it.
