Equal Employment and Nondiscrimination Statement
KCSDV is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate in its employment decisions, training and education, or service practices on the basis of ethnicity, race, color, creed, sex, age, veteran status, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion or on any other basis that would be in violation of applicable federal, state, or local law. This nondiscrimination statement and equal employment information is included in the Employee Handbook, on employment announcements, in public locations in the KCSDV office, and on the KCSDV website with the civil rights complaints’ information. Training on nondiscrimination and civil rights will be provided annually to staff.
This policy applies to all employment, education, and services practices, including recruiting, selecting, hiring, promoting, transferring, training, disciplining, compensating, or any other staffing, rightsizing, or downsizing activity as well as all training and education programming.
Civil Rights Complaint Procedure
A person who believes they have been excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, subjected to discrimination under, or denied any training, education or employment because of ethnicity, race, color, creed, sex, age, veteran status, disability, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion or on any other basis that would be in violation of applicable Federal, state, or local law, or has been retaliated against for engaging in protected activity can file a complaint with the KCSDV Executive Director, Michelle McCormick or the KCSDV Board of Directors in person, through email, or by mail.
All inquiries and complaints must be in writing and should be addressed to either Michelle McCormick, the KCSDV Executive Director, who is the organization’s Civil Rights Liaison, or the Board President if they wish to file a complaint without contacting the KCSDV Executive Director. The Board President’s email address is located on the KCSDV website or can be obtained by calling KCSDV at 785-232-9784. Complaints about Michelle McCormick, KCSDV Executive Director, may be addressed directly to the President of the Board of Directors.
The KCSDV Executive Director or Board President will notify such person of their right to file a complaint with any of the following state or federal agencies:

When notified that a person believes they have been discriminated against and wishes to file a complaint, Michelle McCormick, the KCSDV Executive Director will notify such person that if they wish to file a complaint with KHRC, EEOC or OCR, that complaint must be filed within the time frames set forth by those agencies as can be found at the links below:
This complaint procedure shall be included in the employee handbook, posted in the employee common area, attached to all contracts and posted on the KCSDV webpage. Findings from complaints under this civil rights complaints’ procedure will be reported to the Office of Civil Rights and to the Kansas Governor’s Grants Program.
Grievance Procedures related to Nondiscrimination in Educational Programming
The non-discrimination policy described above applies not only to employment at KCSDV or the other circumstances described, but also to training and educational services KCSDV provides for educational purposes. Participants receiving educational programming are notified about this policy and the complaint procedures through the materials provided at each training and through information posted on the KCSDV website.
KCSDV executive director, Michelle McCormick, is designated to coordinate compliance with the prohibitions against sex discrimination in for all activities related to educational purposes.
The following grievance procedures provide for a prompt and equitable resolution of complaints alleging a violation on the basis of sex during educational programming:
