DOJ Findings Highlight Importance of Sexual Safety at TCF

KCSDV has been a part of ongoing meetings with the Kansas Department of Corrections officials to address the sexual safety of the women at the Topeka Correctional Facility (TCF). However, at this time, implementation of suggested programming has not occurred.

KCSDV Supports Effort to Increase State Funding to Victim Services

The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence supports efforts by the Kansas Legislature’s budget conference committee to add $1 million for core services to victims of sexual and domestic violence. Such efforts are being considered today. Unfortunately, sexual assault and domestic violence numbers in Kansas have not gone down in recent years and, in fact, remain very high.

After extensive consideration and consultation with our member programs that provide domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy services in local communities, KCSDV will no longer seek to renew its longstanding collaborative project with Kansas SRS.
