Alliance Against Family Violence Confidential Shelter Reopens

Leavenworth, KS, April 2, 2019 — After over a year since closing its doors, the Alliance Against Family Violence in Leavenworth, Kansas will resume operations today, April 2, 2019. The organization will begin providing 24/7 hotline services and emergency confidential shelter to individuals, and their children, who are fleeing domestic violence.

Trained professional staff will provide trauma-informed, compassionate care to all those impacted by sexual or domestic violence in Leavenworth County. The hotline at 913.675.7217 is available to any individual affected by violence, whether it happened yesterday or 20 years ago.

The emergency, confidential shelter provides a safe place for individuals and families in need of a secure location to escape the threat of an intimate partner or family member. Any person in need of confidential shelter can contact the Alliance through the hotline at 913.675.7217.

The Alliance plans to launch its sexual assault advocacy and police response advocacy services early this summer.
