Guest Speakers:

Ashleigh Klein-Jimenez, MPA (she/her)
Director of Prevention
ValorUS

In 2005, Ashleigh Klein-Jimenez discovered, through her local rape crisis center, that people were actually trying to prevent violence from happening in the first place, and the rest is history. Since then, Ashleigh has worked in community-based prevention programs at YWCA of Greater Los Angeles and the Sexual Assault Crisis Agency in Long Beach, California. Ashleigh left Southern California and headed north to join the VALOR team in 2015. At VALOR, Ashleigh supports the organization’s various projects, including the nation’s leading online community to advance primary prevention of sexual and domestic violence, PreventConnect. When not thinking about all things prevention, she can be found serenading her farm animals with Dolly Parton songs.

What Will It Take to End Sexual and Domestic Violence in Kansas?

Sexual and domestic violence are complex problems that no one person, organization, program, or sector can solve alone. By working collaboratively, though, we can foster environments where individuals and communities have what they need to thrive and reduce the incidence of violence.

This session will explore real world examples of communities making change, highlight promising prevention strategies, and help participants find their unique role in ending sexual and domestic violence. Together we can create a future where violence is the rare exception, not the prevailing norm.

The Summit will also feature experts from Kansas organizations who will share about the innovative prevention work they are leading in their communities!
