The Advanced Nurse Education-Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Grant through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) aims to provide better physical and mental health care treatments for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. The grant funds will be used for recruiting, training, and certifying nurses for forensic exams and multi-disciplinary members of sexual assault victims for better evidence collection and potentially higher prosecution rates. The three-year HRSA ANE-SANE Grant was awarded to the Pittsburg State University, Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing in October 2018 to train and support nurses and organizations in rural areas of Kansas.
