Description:

This interactive, in-person training will be an all-day collaborative effort to build advocacy skills around financial empowerment and survivor safety. Advocates will explore their own relationship with personal finances and experiences to develop a better understanding of the financial empowerment curriculum and resources to increase economic advocacy services to survivors. Additionally, advocates will explore the impacts of systemic economic barriers which affect the ability to equitably self-define financial autonomy and well-being.

During this training, participants will:

  • Discuss the connections between financial abuse and long-term safety and autonomy
  • Identify financial fundamentals
  • Compare various resources and interactive tools for financial planning and well-being
  • Apply established financial foundations for long-term planning

KCSDV has secured a block of 10 rooms for attendees. Check-in is on Monday, June 26, and check-out is on Tuesday, June 27. To obtain the special group rate, click HERE. Lodging must be booked by Sunday, June 4 to receive the special group rate.

  • Hotel Parking: Valet parking is available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., at a fee of $25 per day. Valet vehicles are unable to be retrieved outside of this period. Street parking is available at no charge from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Outside of this timeframe, City of Topeka Parking enforces a daily 2-hour parking limit throughout Downtown. Additional parking garages are located throughout downtown at an hourly fee.
