This interactive, in-person training will be an all-day collaborative effort to build advocacy skills around financial empowerment and survivor safety. Advocates will explore their own relationship with personal finances and experiences to develop a better understanding of the financial empowerment curriculum and resources to increase economic advocacy services to survivors. Additionally, advocates will explore the impacts of systemic economic barriers which affect the ability to equitably self-define financial autonomy and well-being.

During this training, participants will:

  • Discuss the connections between financial abuse and long-term safety and autonomy
  • Identify financial fundamentals
  • Compare various resources and interactive tools for financial planning and well-being
  • Apply established financial foundations for long-term planning
