Survivor confidentiality is foundational to sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy services. Confidentiality empowers survivors, enhances safety, and builds trust. Additionally, it is required by federal law. This webinar will help advocates navigate confidentiality requirements and exceptions, in order to provide services that are safe, empowering, and survivor-centered.
As a result of this webinar, participants will be better able to:
- Discuss federal confidentiality requirements for sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy programs.
- Explain the exceptions to federal confidentiality requirements.
- Describe the essential components of a release of information.
