Today is a part of KCSDV’s 10th Annual Safe Homes, Safe Streets event in which KCSDV invites domestic violence and sexual assault advocates from across the state to gather in Topeka.

The Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV) is pleased to announce that internationally-acclaimed musician Kelley Hunt will perform at KCSDV’s 10th Annual Safe Homes Safe Streets Benefit Reception on Wednesday, February 13th.

January is National Stalking Awareness Month, a time to focus on a crime that affects 3.4 million victims a year. This year’s theme-“Stalking: Know It. Name It. Stop It.”-challenges the nation to fight this dangerous crime by learning more about it.

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), the Kansas Coalition Against Sexual and Domestic Violence (KCSDV), and the Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence (MCADSV) ask communities to sue today’s homicide of Kasandra Perkins in Kansas City to shine the light on the dangers victims face in their own homes and to facilitate conversations about healthy relationships.

The recently released files from the Boy Scouts of America remind us that child sexual abuse is a widespread issue that impacts thousands of men, women, and children every day. Oftentimes, abuse occurs at an early age.
